Waterside Needs YOU–to Keep Bikes Turning & Youth Learning
WHERE COMMUNITY BUILDS OPPORTUNITY
We’re raising $50,000 by December 31 to keep youth job training and community open shop running.
Recent grant revenue setbacks put critical opportunities at risk for young people, and Waterside needs your support now more than ever.
Your support today keeps our doors open, our tools turning, and local youth working, learning, and thriving.
Why We Need You
For nearly 20 years, Waterside Workshops has provided hands-on job training, mentorship, outdoor experiences, meals, and a safe space for under-resourced Bay Area youth to build their futures.
But today, severe funding losses have created a perfect storm. Without community support, we’ll have fewer paid internships, fewer hours, fewer mentors, and fewer opportunities for youth who rely on us most.
We must raise $50,000 by December 31 to keep Waterside going strong.
This community built Waterside, and together, we can keep it thriving.
How You Can Help
Every action keeps opportunities alive.
1) Donate
Your gift funds youth stipends, meals, mentorship, and hands-on learning.
Give today to help us reach $50,000 by Dec 31.
Donate on this page or mail a check — every dollar helps (see below for additional ways to give, including stocks, cryptocurrency, and donor advised funds!)
2) Shop with Us
Shop the Waterside Holiday Workshop!
Buy bikes, gear, wooden trees, Adirondack chairs, and cutting boards — all made by youth in our job training and community programs.
3) Become a Community Partner
Join us as an annual sponsor. Your support sustains hands-on learning all year long.
4) Volunteer
Mentor youth, help in the shop, assist at events, offer specialized skills, and more.
5) Donate a Bike
Give your bike new life — we refurbish or recycle everything, keeping thousands of pounds out of the landfill and putting more affordable bikes on the road.
Why It Matters
At Waterside, youth find:
- Paid job training
- Mentorship & belonging
- Meals & support
- Outdoor adventures
- A pathway toward adulthood
Our young people face barriers like housing instability, family challenges, or limited support networks. Here, they find community, purpose, and the confidence to imagine what’s possible.
Your support keeps these opportunities alive today - and into the future.
Where Your Donation Goes
- Youth stipends + wages
- Meals + food support
- Street Level Cycles bike shop + program staffing
- Tools, materials + safety gear
- Outdoor education + leadership
- Mental health + case-management support
Together, we help youth build bright futures.
